The role

This is an exciting opportunity to join an award-winning PR team which achieves high levels of coverage and punches above its weight in terms of influencing policy and decision markers. This high-profile role provides the candidate with the opportunity to influence the personal finance industry and encourage consumers to take better control of their finances.

Taking on overall PR responsibility for the Financial Services division of ZPG Comparison, you will be planning and delivering the PR launch of a new website, providing consumers with the expert advice and tools they need to make vital financial decisions. You ensure that our other financial services brands including and continue to be recognised and trusted household names by distributing regular commentary and responding to media enquiries. You will also provide vital SEO support by ensuring that our brands are linked to from authoritative news sites.

Key responsibilities

  • Strategy: Setting PR strategy to deliver high profile, impactful campaigns, ensuring consistent focus across objectives, key messages and target audiences. Providing advice and counsel to the business on PR issues that may have an impact on corporate reputation and circulating agreed messaging on any potential issues.
  • Campaign Management: Planning and delivering PR campaigns to secure media coverage and links. Managing a PR campaign from inception to delivery, creating and signing off assets, sourcing and managing case studies, selling in press releases and monitoring and evaluating coverage. Managing the impact of PR campaigns on the business and coordinating activity across PR, editorial, social media and the wider marketing team (email, SEO & PPC).
  • Newsjacking: Monitoring daily news and identifying opportunities to deliver expert commentary on behalf of uSwitch and and Bankrate applying digital PR expertise to meet high link targets.
  • Relationship Building: Developing strong relationships with personal finance, trade, consumers and broadcast media and other key industry influencers.
  • Spokespeople: Managing, coaching and training spokespeople and managing their calendars for press interviews, broadcast interviews and video/podcast appearances.
  • Press Office: Working with the wider PR team to provide a first class press office for all ZPG Comparison brands. Responsible for answering press phone and emails in and out of office hours, responding to any immediate or urgent requests quickly and accurately. Coordinating activity with rest of team and keeping wider company informed of team progress and results.
